St. Peter’s beat Prince of Wales (POW) by 33 runs in the 1st semi-final of the Schools T20 tournament played this morning at the R Premadasa Stadium, Kettarama. SPC batting first SPC posted 144 for 6 with Hashan Wanasekera getting 41. POW in their turn were bowled out for 113 in the 17th over with Vinu Mohotti bagging 4 wickets.

Their opponent will be St. Aloysius College, Galle who beat the strong Trinity outfit in the 2nd semi-final.

Thus SPC qualified for the final of this tournament which has been rescheduled to be played on Friday, 8th at Galle. Now it is intriguing why the date and the venue have been suddenly changed and why Galle. Is there a hidden hand desperately trying to keep the Petes away from a championship?
